Singer – songwriter Three Strands returns to the cafe on Saturday night, August 10, as we reopen for our fall / winter season.
The gap between faith and unbelief, for some, can seem like a vast sea. It is here where Three Strands’ songs tend to reside. Love, loss and community have a looming influence over what we find true and good. Through honest and simplistic arrangements and strong influences from the American folk revival as well as early gospel and blues traditions, Three Strands is a project that exists to dredge those deep waters in search for the strands that unite us all.
We are looking forward to the return of Rob Robinson Music on Saturday, May 4. Doors open at 7pm, and Rob begins at 7:30pm. There is no cover charge for this event, but we gladly accept tips, which go to the musician.
Rob Robinson is a singer songwriter, guitarist, drummer, teacher and clinician. He has performed a variety of musical styles over the years including Pop, Rock, Country, Folk and Blues. Rob’s musical roots were largely based on his involvement in drum corps within the well-known DCI movement.
He has also been a featured guest on NPR’s Acoustic Highway. Rob continues to drum for artists such as Suzanne Gorman and Memphis based singer-songwriter Dan Montgomery. He is also an active clinician in the rudimental drum community and in 2007 was inducted into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame.
